Proverbs 27:19 - NIV - "As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart."
When you look in the mirror, you are able to examine your appearance. Depending on the activity you participated in beforehand, you can recognize what that activity was by what it has done to your image. For example: if you were playing sports, you may have dry sweat and slightly discolored clothing. If you were working on a car, you might see smudges on your face, hands, and clothes from the grease. This is similar to how your life can reflect what is in your heart.
If your heart is full of negativity, your life will reflect that. If your heart is filled with lust, then your life will reflect that. If your heart is filled with hatred or jealousy, your life will reflect that. However, if your heart is filled with the love of GOD then your life will reflect the fruits of the Spirit. Things such as patience, self-control, peace, joy, and faithfulness will suddenly become natural. Proverbs 4:23 says, "Above all else guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it."
