The Power Of Your Mind

"Let God's Spirit renew your thoughts and attitude."

Ephesians 4:23

The battle to change your life begins in your mind. If you want to change your behavior, you must start with your thoughts and your attitude.

The renewal of your mind is related to the word "repentance." Repentance is a negative word for some people. They think of a person on a street corner, holding a sign that says, "Repent! The world's about to end!" The gloom and doom message approach has created a stigma around the term "repent."

However, let's be clear; repentance is a good thing. It does not begin with your actions, but with learning to think differently. "Repent" simply means to make a mental U-turn. It is something that starts with your mind, not with your behavior. Your behavior is simply a reflection of what is taking place in your thinking. Changing the way, you think will change the way you act.

In other words, repenting means turning your guilt into forgiveness, purposeless into purpose, hopelessness into new hope, frustration into freedom, darkness into light, hell into heaven, and hatred into love.

Repentance also, more importantly, changes the way you think about God. It changes the way you think about yourself, your spouse, your kids, your loved ones, and your thoughts about your past, present, and future.

Renewal is powered by the Holy Spirit. In other words, God is actively working to help you change the way you think so that you will become more like Jesus.

GOD bless.
