Exodus 25:8 NKJ -
8 And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.
It was GODS' desire to dwell among mankind from the beginning. But man sinned and created a separation between us and GOD. In the first earthly Sanctuary, there was a curtain that separated the Holy place from the Most Holy place. This symbolized sin, which separates us from GOD. As filthy as our sin was, God did not want to remain separate from us but desired to dwell among us.
To accomplish this, God instructed Moses and the Israelites to build a sanctuary where He could dwell among them without consuming the sinful Israelites with His Holiness. Moses would make a tent, and later, Solomon would make a temple. However, God's ultimate desire was not to dwell in a temple made by human hands but a temple made by His own hands.
1 Corinthians 3:16 says that we are now the temple of the living God. Through the work of Christ, the wall that separated us from God was torn apart, reconciling us back to Him. God no longer dwells in a building made by human hands but a temple that Himself made. He has restored the temple that we corrupted and dwells in us for eternity, never to be separated again. GOD bless. Share with your family and friends.
