Mark 12:43-44 - NKJ -
43 So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; 44 for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.”
Christmas is the time of giving, and it is the only time of the year when most people will give a gift. Some gifts are based on the abundance of the giver, while others only give what they can. The widow’s offering reflects what GOD gave for the world. He didn’t give His Son because He could; He gave His Son because He was all He had to save the world.
As we celebrate this season of generosity, let us reflect on the true meaning of giving. It’s not about the size of the gift but the heart behind it. Whether we give abundantly or sacrificially, the love and intent behind the gift are what truly matter. Just as the widow's offering was honored by Jesus, may we too be moved to give not just out of our excess, but out of love and a willing heart, knowing that in our giving, we mirror the ultimate gift GOD gave to us. GOD bless, share with your family and friends.
