Ephesians 4:29 - NKJV -
"Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers."
Humans are social creatures, meaning that we cannot really thrive without forming bonds. Every day, we go to work, school, or home, and interact with co-workers, classmates, friends, and family. Sometimes, we joke; other times, we grieve; sometimes, we speak seriously; other times we comfort. Sometimes, it's easy to get caught up in the emotions of a situation and speak negatively to our neighbor or family member. However, the bible advises us to let no "corrupt" talk proceed from our mouths.
When you go throughout the day speaking to people, are you mindful of what you say? Maybe you spoke words you should not have, and instead of building others up, you knocked them down instead. It is not that we should be paranoid about our speech, but we should love Christ so much that His character influences our character. As a byproduct of His influence, building others up through our words should become natural.
2 Corinthians 3:18 says, "18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
GOD bless.
