Pride is Destructive

Proverbs 16:18-19 NKJ - 18 Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.

19 Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

Pride ruins relationships. Pride produces misunderstandings because it says, " I know it all, I don't need to listen." When your ears are closed but your mind jumps to conclusions. Pride causes you to presume and take liberties you shouldn't. It leads to assumptions that simply aren't true. These misunderstandings hurt deeply and damage the relationship. Have you ever heard anybody say love is blind? Love isn't blind. Pride is blind. It blinds us to our own faults.

Pride provokes arguments because it says, " Look at how good I am." Bragging doesn't impress anyone, it just creates conflict. The person who has the right to boast doesn't need to. Greatness is its own advertising. Bragging always gets you into trouble. Pride prevents intimacy. The fear of rejection hides behind pride. Inside you're thinking, " if you knew the real me, you would not like me!" Ego moves us to build walls in order to hide our faults, fears, and feelings. It pushes people away, keeping them at arm's distance while projecting a false sense of " I've got this!"

Pride postpones reconciliation when there's conflict.

Have you ever done something wrong to someone you love, and you knew that it was thoughtless, but you couldn't bring yourself to admit it?

You can't say " I'm sorry. I was wrong" when you are filled with pride. When your ego is in charge you can't restore a relationship.

Is pride ruining any of your relationships? How can you be more loving with humility?

Wisdom is crying out beloved kingdom family indeed and turn from evil to God Most High guard your heart love, trust and obey Jesus! GOD bless.

Share with your family and friends.
