Judges 15:14 - "When he came to Lehi, the Philistines came shouting against him. Then the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him; and the ropes that were on his arms became like flax that is burned with fire, and his bonds broke loose from his hands."
Samson was called to be a judge over Israel long before they had a human king. However, his calling differed from his anointing. His calling represented his assignment—to govern and protect GODS people. The anointing, on the other hand, is God's empowerment for that assignment. It is GODS initiative, bestowed according to His divine will and purpose. Just as Samson was equipped to fulfill his role through the Spirit of the Lord, we too must rely on the anointing to carry out our various callings, whether as pastors, teachers, parents, or professionals. Without the anointing, our efforts become mere human endeavors, lacking the transformative power that only comes from GOD.
Moreover, the anointing serves as a reminder that we are not alone in our callings. In 1 John 2:20, we read, “But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know the truth.” This verse reassures us that GOD equips us for our specific tasks and provides wisdom and insight beyond our natural abilities. Embracing this anointing allows us to step boldly into our callings, knowing that it is not by our strength or skill but by His power that we can fulfill His purposes. Therefore, let us actively seek the anointing of the Holy Spirit, recognizing that it is essential for living out our GOD-given callings effectively and impacting the world around us for His glory.
GOD bless. Share with your family and friends.
