Genesis 29:20 (NKJV): "So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed only a few days to him because of the love he had for her."
Serving for seven years is a significant commitment, yet time seems to fly when motivated by love. We engage in service across various spheres—church ministries, home, community, work, and government. In these roles, do we bring compassion to our service? Rachel, a shepherdess, symbolizes Jesus, the ultimate Shepherd, and Jacob's love for her made those seven years feel effortless. His deep love and compassion allowed him to transcend the pain and suffering that often accompany such sacrifices.
The narrative emphasizes the transformative power of Christ’s love. Jacob’s experience illustrates that when our actions are fueled by love, especially the love of Christ, our burdens become lighter. This principle is evident in our Christian Walk, where love compels us to serve others joyfully, even amidst challenges. Christ’s sacrificial love empowers us to endure and brings purpose to our struggles, reminding us that our trials are not in vain when motivated by a heart aligned with God’s will.
Furthermore, Jacob's journey reflects our call to embody the love of Christ in our relationships and service. Just as Jacob's love for Rachel sustained him, our relationship with Christ should inspire us to serve selflessly. In doing so, we reflect the nature of Christ, who came not to be served but to serve. This model encourages us to view our contributions as acts of worship, where our love for Christ fuels our desire to minister to others, ultimately enriching both our lives and the lives of those we serve. In this way, we become vessels of Christ's love, demonstrating the transformative power of His grace in every aspect of our lives. GOD bless. Share with your family and friends.
