1 Peter 2:15 - NKJV - For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men
Have you ever experienced drama at home, work, or church? What you will notice about drama is that it has several ways by which it can manifest. Gossip is one of the primary ways that drama can manifest. The thing about gossip is that you cannot immediately discern whether it is true or not. Because of this, many people have used gossip to destroy the character and reputation of others. The question then arises: What does the life of the accused actually look like in light of the allegations?
This question should matter to followers of Jesus because as ministers of truth, Christians ought to love what is true. 1 Corinthians 13:6 says, "Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth." Jesus also says in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life." Taking all of this into consideration, if we stand accused of evil as followers of Jesus, do the allegations point to truth or to lies? If we truly love God, then we would have reflected Christ in our lives. If we have reflected Christ before others, then what could we possibly be accused of besides doing that which is good? If we have indeed done our due diligence to practice righteousness before man, then when they slander us and the evidence is actually examined, the accusers are the ones who end up being exposed as liars and workers of iniquity.
2 Corinthians 5:20 says, "We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God." As ambassadors of Christ, are we fulfilling our purpose of not just being voices of truth, but also examples of truth? Let your life Testify of the truth. GOD bless.
