2 Timothy 2:11-13 NKJ - 11 This is a faithful saying:
For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him. 12 If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.
13 If we are faithless,
He remains faithful.
He cannot deny Himself.
This passage is from Paul's second letter of encouragement to a young man named Timothy, written to remind him of the significance of knowing about the faithfulness of Jesus. One of the fundamental qualities of God is that He is unchanging. This may be strange to hear for someone who is unfamiliar with God's nature. Why? Everything we observe in our daily lives is constantly changing, so it would make sense for it to be difficult to grasp the idea that anything in existence is unchanging.
However, God, being the unchanging agent of change, is also the uncaused agent of cause. God is before all things because He is the One Who created all things. If God is unchanging, then that means that any attributes that He has are also, by default, unchanging. One of God's unchanging attributes is His faithfulness.
As human beings, we are a part of creation, which is ever changing. It is not difficult to understand that we change all the time due to the fact that our physical development and mental development change over time.
We were babies but no longer are we knew nothing but now know something. We are sometimes faithful, but sometimes are not. God, however, remains faithful because of the fact that He is unchanging. By being unchanging, God's faithfulness endures for as long as He does, for eternity. If we deny Christ, in response to our freedom to choose that denial, Christ respects our decision to be separated from Him. This does not mean that Christ is not faithful but proves His faithfulness by virtue of Him honoring the dominion He gave us in Genesis. God is always faithful. GOD bless.
