Hebrews 3:3-4 NKJ - 3 For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house. 4 For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God.
We love to claim ownership of the things that we possess. We claim, "Oh, I worked hard for all of these," or, "My family worked hard for all these things." This me be true in the relative sense, but not in the "ultimate" sense. This attitude and mentality of "I own everything" typically leads to self-praise, self-promotion, pride, and self-worship.
Even the money in our bank accounts and wallet don't ultimately belong to us. The Bible says that we can build a house and work for things, but it is God Who ultimately builds all houses and owns all things. How? If God created the universe and everything in it, then we and the materials used to build houses were also created by God.
Even the inspiration by which we build things can all be traced back to the builder of all things. For example, if you have the gift of building, who was the one who gave you that gift? This is also true of every gift. James 1:17 says, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights..."
Don't forget to give glory where glory is due. The bible says that God deserves all the glory because all things ultimately belong to Him. This will help us have a proper approach and understanding of the things we possess and, in turn, manage things better and ultimately glorify the LORD.
GOD bless.
