Does GOD Devalue Us

Writer's picture: KingdomLegacyLVKingdomLegacyLV

Mathew 10:37-39 - 37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39

He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.

As humans, we love when people value us. To value someone means to hold them in high esteem in some sense. For example: if you value a friend, you will more than likely favor them in certain circumstances; if the friend wants a ride, then you will probably go out of your way to accommodate that friend. The same can NOT be said about someone you do not value. If you do not value someone, then you will more than likely not go out of your way to accommodate them.

We tend to value people who have been good or nice to us while dismissing those who have inconvenienced us. If you are at odds with anyone, there is an obvious tension that can lead to both of you devaluing each other. Those we value are the ones we have the propensity to build and have relationships with.

Did you know that Jesus Christ does the same? The difference, however, is in the fact that Jesus is the one Who gets to objectively determine what our actual value is, since He is the One Who made us. So then, how does our value drop if He has already determined it?

We are the ones who have chosen to lower our value when we do not respond to the call and purpose for which we have been created. Just like how a hammer that cannot function as a hammer is useless, so too is a person who does not respond to the very Person Whose image he has been created in. What good is a generator that cannot generate power? What good is a basketball that does not bounce? If we prioritize anything before God, then we have placed more value on that thing than God. If God is the source that sustains everything, how can we put anything or anyone before Him? When we Devalue God, we inevitably Devalue ourselves because we were made to worship and glorify Him. Value God above all things, and He will respond by making Himself known to you. GOD bless,

Share with your family and friends.
