Psalms 45:6 - NKJV - "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom."
While it is election season, everyone is thinking about who the best candidate to be president is. Unfortunately, people get so caught up in the politics that they end up being absolutely absorbed in the candidate they are rooting for. Without realizing it, that candidate has become their idol. However, as followers of Christ, our eyes need to be fixed on the ONE Who holds all power and authority, Jesus Christ.
Because God created all things in existence, He has authority over all that exists. The bible says that in the beginning "God" created the heavens and earth. During creation, no man nor angel had any say in determining how the world ought to be made. It was God alone.
Human beings, with their limited power and authority, tend to use it to destroy the lives of others in order to preserve themselves. However, God, with His unlimited power and authority, chose to lay down His life to preserve the lives of others. With ultimate power and authority in His hand, He demonstrated ultimate humility. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus and claim His power and authority over our lives and situations!
