🔥1 Peter 4:7-10 NKJ - 7 But the end of all things is at hand; therefore, be serious and watchful in your prayers. 8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” 9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. 10
As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
🌸 Hospitality is one of the best qualities to have in a home. We can have a physically beautiful house, but if no one wants to enter, then the home has lost a valuable quality that makes a home what it is. Think about what comes to mind when you think of home.
🍀Some say that home is where the heart is, meaning that home is where your heart desires to return to after a long day at work; or where your heart desires to dwell because your loved ones are there (family or friends). A "home" exists as long as the quality that makes it a home exists. Imagine if we were to subtract loved ones, beds for resting, couches to put your feet up, and your belongings; then the house would simply be a building.
🌺The same is true when you enter into the house of a loved one. If you were to enter into the house as a guest and did not feel welcomed, comfortable, or attended to, then your perspective of that home would shift dramatically. Despite being close with that loved one, you would probably not want to return to that loved one's house ever again. Why? Because there was no display of the quality that makes a home what it is.
🌸So what is it that makes a home a home? Home is an environment where love abides in the host, which then influences the environment in such a way that the love becomes intrinsically weaved into that space. If the host lacks love and compassion, then that environment is less likely to be desirable to anyone. However, if the host has fervent love, then that love will manifest in hospitality and generosity.
🌻The bible says that our bodies are the temple of the living God (see 1 Corinthians 3:16). In other words, our bodies are also houses, and we are hosts to whoever would enter. Jesus says in John 14:23, "“Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them." Do we welcome Jesus into the home of our hearts as hosts with the love of God intrinsically weaved in. If we are loving hosts to our Creator, He creates change in the environment of our hearts so that we can be hospitable hosts to our physical homes. GOD bless.
Share with your family and friends. 🌺🌻🌼🌸🌹
